On Friday, May 17, the Christopher Columbus Lodge of Brockton held a Comedy Night Fundraiser at Barrett’s Ale House in West Bridgewater. The function room at Barrett’s was festively decorated with balloons in the traditional Italian colors of red, white, and green as well as a white impatient plant with green and white ribbons on each table. A delicious meal of a variety of pizzas and salad was the main entrée with a variety of delicious cookies as the dessert.
There were 150 people in attendance, including many Lodge members and their guests. The special guests attending were former World Welterweight Champion Tony DeMarco and his lovely wife, Dottie. President Todd Petti introduced Tony to the crowd just prior to the performances. He was received with a rousing applause in appreciation of his accomplishments.
The Comedy Night commenced with the comedy portion of the evening with comedians Larry Soares, Pete Costello, and Mike McCarthy. Finally, the headliner, comedian Dave Russo, entertained us with his unique style of humor.
Afterwards, the door prizes were raffled off to many lucky winners as well as a 50/50 raffle with the winner winning half of the pot.
Many thanks to Lodge members who supported this fundraiser by selling tickets, attending the event, and bringing guests. Special thank you to the organizers who were responsible for such a successful event: Todd and Kathy Petti for producing the fundraiser, Roberta Richard for helping obtain raffle items and centerpieces, Jody Brunet for her skills as Treasurer keeping the financial part of the fundraiser running smoothly.
It was a successful evening with delicious food, fun raffles, and amazing comedy by this group of fantastic local comedians.
