The Christopher Columbus Lodge of Brockton held its Annual Christmas Party in early December and it was a rousing success! The décor was festive and Christmassy, the George’s Café menu and food selection was delicious and plentiful, the company was happy and sober, the entertainment was fun, informative, and exciting, and the raffle and 50/50 winners were happy with their winnings. In the long run, everyone started the Holiday Season on a fun note and had a fabulous time.
Thank you to our President Todd Petti for his continued leadership and for his and wife Kathy’s donation of Christmas fortune cookies, the fun Bingo game, and the donated prizes. Lois and Richard Alfonso donated the Christmas favors that were given to the attendees. Jacky Bonarrigo donated the lovely poinsettia centerpieces that graced each table. The delicious Italian cookies and homemade pizzelle for dessert were donated by Lisa Kielczewski and Jacky Bonarrigo. The fabulous entertainment and sing-along were led by our infamous entertainer Louise Ferrari. Linda Pietrantonio and Jacky Bonarrigo captured all the festivities with their photography.
This year we invited a special guest, Paula Jones, who is the Director of Adult Services at the Brockton Public Library. She and her husband Richard enjoyed the delicious food and festivities and got to meet the members of our Lodge.
We appreciate all our Lodge Members that donated raffle items and everyone that supported our Lodge by purchasing raffle tickets. Those who donated raffle items were: Lois and Richard Alfonso (pasta basket won by Lance Petti), Lois and Richard Alfonso (panettone and Christmas plate won by Jacky Bonarrigo), Lois and Richard Alfonso (book on Tuscany won by Marianne Nedell), Jacky Bonarrigo (homemade Christmas floral arrangement centerpiece won by Phyliss Fedele), Todd Petti (Gowell’s Chocolates won by Eileen Marinelli), Mike Lombardo (Il Dolci won by Grace Resmini), Marianne Nedell (bottle of Italian wine won by Lance Petti), Steve Marinelli (Italian red wine won by Stella Price), and Eileen Marinelli (Christmas lighted candle centerpiece won by Carol Powers). The 50/50 raffle was won by Roberta Richard.
Many Lodge members remembered to bring toys and clothing items that were donated to My Brother’s Keeper to be given out to families and children in need.
