Charitable & Educational Trust
The Charitable & Educational Trust of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts supports various charitable organizations and causes, several in partnership with the National Sons of Italy Foundation.
Additionally, the Trust raises funds to award scholarships to graduating high school seniors as part of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts' annual Scholarship Program.
The Charitable & Educational Trust is the 501 (c)(3) charitable arm of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, and donations are tax-deductible.
National CharitiesAlzheimer's Association
The Alzheimer's Association is the world's leading organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research. Their mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research, to provide and enhance care and support for affected patients and their families, and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
Cooley's Anemia Foundation
The Cooley's Anemia Foundation is dedicated to serving people afflicted with various forms of thalassemia, most notably the major form of this genetic blood disease, Cooley's anemia/thalassemia major, which most often occurs in people of Mediterranean descent. Their mission is to advance the treatment and cure for this fatal blood disease, enhance the quality of life for patients, and educate the medical profession, trait carriers, and the public about Cooley's anemia.
Doug J. Flutie Foundation for Autism
The mission of the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism is to improve the quality of life for people and families living with autism by connecting them with the resources they need, and by funding advocacy programs and educational, theraputic, and recreational opportunities.
Casa Monte Cassino
The Casa Monte Cassino provides free housing to families who come to the Boston area seeking medical treatment. The Casa helps visiting families navigate the city, provides assistance with transportation, and incorporates the cultural traditions of visiting families to make them feel more at home. The Casa also hosts events to connect with the doctors they frequently work with, and symposiums to explore the human side of medicine.
Commission for Social Justice
The Commission for Social Justice operates under the auspices of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, and as a subsidiary of the National Commission for Social Justice. It is the anti-defamation arm of the Order Sons of Italy in America, its main efforts include fighting the stereotyping of Italian Americans, and working to inform the media and general public about Italian American achievements, contributions, history, and culture.

Each year, the Scholarship Commission, through the Charitable & Educational Trust, awards scholarships to deserving high school seniors continuing their education in an accredited, four-year college or vocational/technical school. Several of our Filial Lodges also give scholarships through the Grand Lodge's scholarship program.
